The red light on the receiving sensor glows bright red when the sensors are aligned properly. If you are unable to get the door closed and the safety sensors are the issue the garage door can be closed by pressing and holding the push button on the wall until down travel is completed. If you do not see a solid illumination or your garage door is not working the problem is most likely due to the sensors being out of line. If both the red source and green sensor lights are on and not blinking then the door mechanism is working properly. At that point a homeowner may want to try.
