As of summer 2013 with the exception of the cgs985 cgs990 and c2s985 the control lockout button locks out the oven controls only not the gas burners. Slide the latch to lock the door. The range lockout feature allows the user to lock out all oven and surface burner operation. Turning its circuit breaker off for several minutes and then on again may also work.

Door will not unlock after self cleaning. On some electric profile ranges unplugging the device for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in may allow the door to unlock. Hit the cancel button immediately. If the above does not correct the situation service may be required.

If the oven doesn t unlock press the self cleaning button again to restart the cycle. Wait approximately 30 minutes for the oven to cool and try to unlock the door. Contact an installer or electrician to correct the mis wire and the oven will function normally. If the oven door is still locked you may need to schedule a service appointment with ge factory service.

General electric profile ranges come with a self cleaning oven. If your oven has an auto lock it should only engage during the self clean cycle. Try the following to unlock the door. When the error occurs the control panel s display screen will read locked and blink.

When locked there can be no unintended oven or surface burner activation. If door does not unlatch and you do not have food in the oven set the oven up to clean for 1 2 hours. When these quicker tips don t work set a short self cleaning cycle for 1 to 2 hours let the oven cool and try again. See range oven door won t unlock.

After 30 seconds cancel the cycle and see if the door unlocked. Oven door locks during baking the lock on wall ovens and ranges is designed to be used during a self clean cycle only. Disconnect power to range for 30 seconds. If this code is flashing in the display of your range or oven and the self clean cycle has not been selected.

This code appears when the door will not unlock after a self clean cycle. For service please schedule an appointment with ge appliances factory service. Occasionally an error may occur that misguides the range in believing the oven door is locked. If your oven has a manual lock do not manually lock for other functions.
