Ge front load washer wont power up door locked.
The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically.
I have a front loading washer that wont run on any cycle.

Inspect the door lock for damage.
To determine if the door lock has failed electrically use a multimeter to test each of the door lock switches for continuity.
The lock mechanism consists of some switches and normally a lock unlock solenoid or wax motor solenoid.
The door should unlock.
The motor may need to be reset if there is a power spike a load that is unbalanced or a disruption in power.
The door lock light does come on but the door will not lock.

Reach up inside of the unit near where the door lock is and you will feel a small tab at the bottom of the lock assembly.

I remove the door lock assembly and pulled the cover off.

Pull the lower panel out at the bottom and remove it.
Once the washer door is closed the washer can begin operating.
If the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete.
With the lower access panel removed and the washer unplugged reach up to the door lock and feel for a round release ring and pull it down.

Pull down on it and the door will open.

To unlock the washer controls press and hold the lock button for 10 seconds.
The control lock icon on the display will light up when it is on.
You can unlock the unit by removing the three screws at the bottom front of the unit.
